PokerRoom
PokerRoom has worked hard the last few years to improve their poker interface and the play experience and their efforts have paid off by putting them in the top six cardrooms in terms of popularity. As you can see from the table image below they've gone for a photorealistic interface which is good looking and clean. The avatars can be disabled and the interface will run full-screen if you want to play poker without distractions.

The Good, Bad and Ugly.The graphics and interface for Pokerroom are decent and game play is relatively fast, however the cards and chips are somewhat small and like most cardrooms the basic interface is in a 800x600 fixed format. Hopefully soon the cardrooms will standardize on a larger resolution (1024x768 is very basic and almost all people use a resolution of at least this size). The avatars don't add much and I have them disabled while playing at this cardroom. I only wish that I could reclaim the space to make the chips and cards a bit larger. The games here lean towards tight/passive which means you'll need to steal some blinds and be a little tricky to make money. The bonuses are not particularly hard to clear if you play at multiple tables of $2-$4 or better. |
