Holdem Hawk/Pirate

Holdem Hawk Side Stats

Holdem Hawk aka Holdem Pirate provides real time odds and playability calculations while you sit at your favorite cardroom.  This image shows the main interface screen.

The top section is a gauge style display of the table looseness.  In this particular case people at this table are putting money in the pot about 42% of the time which is a decently loose table.

The next section shows your current hand (in this case Kc Tc) and the current board 8h 3s Kh 6d.  It also shows your number of outs to improve your hand to a winning hand.  Importantly the outs are adjusted based on the likelihood of each improved hand winning the pot, so although KT can improve to two pair or trips on the river with 5 outs it only considers that you have 3.6 outs to win if you aren't winning right now. If the outs are displayed in green you should continue with the hand, if they are red you should dump it.

In the detailed outs section, Holdem Hawk shows each hand you could improve to along with WC% which is essentially the win rate if you hit that hand.  This percentage is a calculation that takes into account current table conditions and is usually very accurate.

When I found this program I took the demonstration version of it to Noble Poker with $50 and followed its preflop advice exactly. After a couple hours at the $1-$2 table I took $100 and change to the $2-$4, then an hour later $150 to the $3-$6 tables (I moved up tables faster than normal to clear the noble crowns bonus faster).  About three hours later I cashed out $337 with 1500 Noble crowns in my account and my bonus fully cleared.  In most cases the preflop suggestions were in line with what I would normally do, but sometimes there would be close decisions to fold, call or raise that it picked another option, and in every case that option proved to be correct.

I am honestly impressed with the operation of this software, and I hesitated to talk about it here on LLHSAT because if too many people use this product it will definitely make finding a good table a lot harder.  However it's too much of an unfair disadvantage to be up against other players that have access to this tool.  Even if you don't follow its advice like a robot (I don't recommend that), the extra information this tool provides is an edge you shouldn't be without.  It can also be a great discipline trainer, explicitly telling you to let go of your favorite leaky hands.

Holdem Hawk Cardroom Picker

To use Holdem Hawk with one of the supported cardrooms (and there are a ton of them including UltimateBet, and Party Poker) you launch the cardroom from Holdem Hawk by selecting the cardroom from the dropdown and pressing the green arrow.

It's important to launch the cardroom this way because Holdem Hawk gets confused if you launch the cardroom first and then run Holdem Hawk.  I also had some problems with the program getting confused with multiple simultaneous tables, however in single table mode it works like a champ and the other issues are sure to be ironed out quickly.

Holdem Hawk Live Stats

On your actual play screen Holdem Hawk displays an overlay in the lower left corner which gives you specific pre-flop advice and keeps you away from bad pot-odds calls like this one.

Check/Fold indeed.
